Terms and Conditions
Last updated: January 2025
These terms and conditions govern access to and use of the Need Lawyer platform (hereinafter "the Platform"), an online directory of lawyers registered in the Swiss cantonal registry.
1. Purpose of the Platform
The Platform is an independent directory that allows users to search for lawyers registered in the Swiss cantonal registry. It facilitates the connection between people seeking legal advice and lawyers.
The Platform does not provide legal advice and does not intervene in the relationship between the user and the contacted lawyer.
2. Registration and Accounts
Lawyer registration on the Platform is reserved for professionals registered in the Swiss cantonal lawyer registry.
Each registered lawyer is responsible for the accuracy of the information provided in their profile.
End users do not need to create an account to perform searches or view profiles.
3. Neutrality and No Recommendation
The Platform presents lawyers in a neutral and objective manner, without qualitative ranking.
Paid visibility options only improve profile presentation and do not constitute a recommendation, certification, or guarantee of competence.
In accordance with Swiss regulations on lawyer advertising, no ranking or badge suggests qualitative superiority.
4. Liability
The Platform disclaims all liability for the quality of services provided by listed lawyers.
The user is solely responsible for choosing the lawyer they contact.
The Platform does not guarantee the availability, responsiveness, or competence of listed lawyers.
5. Data Protection
Personal data is processed in accordance with the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and our Privacy Policy.
Sensitive data is encrypted and hosted in Switzerland.
Users have the right to access, rectify, and delete their data.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform (design, texts, logos) is protected by intellectual property rights.
Any unauthorized reproduction or use is prohibited.
7. Pricing
Searching and viewing profiles is free for users.
Lawyers can subscribe to paid options to improve their profile visibility.
Prices and payment terms are detailed on the Pricing page.
8. Modification of Terms
The Platform reserves the right to modify these terms at any time.
Users will be notified of any substantial changes.
Continued use of the Platform after modifications constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
9. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are subject to Swiss law.
Any dispute relating to the use of the Platform shall be submitted to the competent courts of the Canton of Geneva, Switzerland.
